Minutes of Meeting of Mashpee Design Review Committee Tuesday, August 15, 2017 Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room Committee Members Present: Joseph Cummings, Joshua Spencer, Michael Mendoza, Miles Peters, and William Blaisdell (substituting for Jonathan Furbush). Michael Mendoza called the meeting to order at 8:35 a.m. and stated for the record that Jonathan Furbush could not attend and in his place William Blaisdell is attending as ZBA representative. Project Address: 64 Great Neck Road South Business name: Laurentide at Mashpee Commons Senior Living Community. Owner/Agent: Northbridge Company/BSC Group Representative: Russell Burke Re nest: Install a freestanding sign. Russell Burke appeared and said he is the representative of Laurentide at Mashpee Commons and that the Applicant is proposing signage for their assisted living facility on 64 Great Neck Road South. • Mr. Burke showed a rendering of the sign, which he said would be a wooden sign. • Indirect lighting. • 2 faces to the sign located between 2 posts with lights are ground rooted at both sides. • Sign dimension is 26 square feet and placed in an area which is allowed— in Business I district. • Sign will be located in front of the property on the easterly side of the entrance driveway and set back about 10 feet from all property lines. • Colors: blue lettering; beige background; and gold lettering on the bottom. Joshua Spencer noted there is grass and sidewalk in the front and questioned set back. Michael Mendoza commented that Town has to have exact location— is the location set back 5 feet or 10 feet? Mike explained that the Town has to know the exact location to be able to determine zoning compliance and public safety issues, if any. Russell Burke said he will go to the site and will provide exact location for the sign. Mike Mendoza said there is no problem in making a motion to approve but the Building Department must be informed of the exact location in order to issue a Permit.
