Mashpee Historic District Commission <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> August 30,2017 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Historic District.Commission Members Present: Earl Mills, Sr., Dennis Balzarini, Jessie Baird, <br /> Brian Hyde, Brad Pittsley <br /> Also: Tom Fudala-Town Planner <br /> Absent: Mike Robbins <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The Town of Mashpee Historic District Commission meeting was opened with a quorum by Chairman <br /> Mills at 6:33 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017. <br /> CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS <br /> Applicant: Naukabout Beer Company LLC <br /> Location: 13 Lake Avenue <br /> Request: Approval of Certificate of Appropriateness for building exterior and site plan <br /> Mr. Fudala confirmed that Naukabout Beer Company's request could be reviewed, but no action could <br /> be taken on the application until abutters were notified that a public hearing was unnecessary. Action <br /> could be taken 10 days from Monday. <br /> Peter Murner, co-owner of Naukabout Beer Company, was present to discuss their proposed changes. <br /> Mr. Murner stated that they were ready to initiate changes to the exterior of the building but was <br /> returning to the Commission to discuss potential changes to their previously approved plan. <br /> Mr. Murner was seeking feedback from the Commission regarding aesthetics for the building. Mr. <br /> Murner reported that they wished to change the board and batten siding to natural wood shingles, <br /> similar to historic Cape properties. The trim, doors and windows would be white. A door was added <br /> W the back of the building. Window heights were also adjusted since they were located in bathrooms. <br /> Detail would be added to the right side of the building and the direction of the stairs in the back would <br /> also be changed to the side rather than the front: Mr. Fudala noted that the bathrooms had been <br /> rearranged and Mr. Murner confirmed that they had been readjusted so as not to face the bar. The <br /> cupola would be decreased in size and would have no interior lighting. Mr. Balzarini indicated his <br /> preference for the shingles and Ms. Baird agreed that it was more in keeping with traditional historic <br /> siding for the area. It was confirmed that the first 8 inches of baseboard would be AZEK. <br /> Mr. Balzarini inquired about the driveway and Mr. Murner confirmed that it would be resealed and <br /> relined with low light lighting. Ms. Baird inquired about the vegetation.plan-and Mr. Murner <br /> confirmed that the property would be cleaned and maintained as is, removing dead or dying vegetation, <br /> in conjunction with the Conservation Department. <br /> Mr. Fudala stated that changes to the back would require a revised site plan showing the changes. Mr. <br /> Murner provided an As Built plan, changing the staircase only, but will consult with his architect. Alf. <br /> Fudala referenced the patio in back, noting that approval was needed from both the Planning Board <br /> and Historic District Commission. <br /> The application will be considered Monday, September 11 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> 1 <br />
