11 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> June 5, 2017 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Review and approval of Annual Reappointments: <br /> The Annual Reappointment List was presented to the Board of Selectmen for review. It was agreed <br /> the document would be amended where necessary and be placed on the upcoming Selectmen's Agenda <br /> for additional review. <br /> Review and approval of Board of Selectmen Meeting Schedule,July-December 2017: <br /> A new meetingschedule was presented and approved to form. <br /> Discussion of Town's rightpurchase income restricted property at 37 Center Street, Main Street <br /> Village: <br /> The Board of Selectmen was in receipt of formal notification by a Mashpee resident of her intent to <br /> sell her income restricted property at 37 Center Street,Mashpee. The property owner has made a <br /> formal application to the ZBA for a modification of the Comprehensive Permit, specifically,to remove <br /> the 40B deed rider on her property. <br /> This home was purchased in December 2012 under the Moderate home buying guidelines through the <br /> Housing Assistance Corporation. The moderate income property does not add to the affordable <br /> housing inventory of the Town. <br /> It is the recommendation of Town Counsel for the Board of Selectmen to exercise their right of first <br /> refusal. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to send a letter to the ZBA stating the position of the <br /> Board of Selectmen to decline their right to purchase the property. In concern this may set <br /> precedent,and it is not beneficial for affordable housing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Gottlieb. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Opposed, none <br /> The next scheduled meeting of the ZBA is June 28, 2017. <br />
