Special Everts Committee Meeting <br /> June 24, 2015 <br /> Minutes <br /> The meeting was called to order at 10.-05 ani. <br /> John Gamache, Mary Bradbury, Heidi McLaughlin, Margie Phillips, Mike Sexton,Catherine Laurent, Glen <br /> Harrington, Mary Derr <br /> 1. Heidi furnished everyone with a site map for day of event <br /> a. Discussion about needing volunteers at the site during the day to help with vendors arriving <br /> early <br /> b. The BMX stunt WI(e shows will beat 11;30 and 1:30 for local camps, including Mashpee <br /> Summer Carp. <br /> 2. Mary furnished everyone with an updated checklist for the event, noting each departments <br /> r <br /> responsibility (attached) <br /> 3. Police - Mike Sextoh <br /> a. asked for the name of the person who would be stationed at the "'bast Child" area and the <br /> need to coordinate that <br /> b. A concern was raised about Bridges having a "Grand opening" on that same day. Mary will <br /> check with BOS office to gOt the information <br /> c. Discussion about handicapped parking, that the buses would be moved from the IVIHS <br /> parking lot as in the past <br /> d. Police worked with DPW to locate where no parking signs would be placed <br /> e. Police will have 2 small golf carts for day of to assist <br /> 4. DPW -Catherine feels that her department is ready and aware of the needs for the day before <br /> and day of the event. <br /> 5. BOH—Glen has the necessary permits for vendors. Recreation/Special Events will furnish hand <br /> sanitizer and gloves to smaller, non-profits that may not be aware of the requirement <br /> 6. Mashpee Commons--Mary Derr reported that she would be in touch with Chris Fleming and <br /> have stakes, saw horses, etc. available for DPW to pick up in preparation for erecting the snow <br /> fencing on June 30#x'. <br /> 7. Citizen Police--Margie Phillips reported she has 3-4 volunteers and could use more help with <br /> parking <br /> 8. John Gamache will be available during the day to help with set up,take pictures <br /> That concluded the discussion of the Community Picric <br /> Other business. <br /> Wayne Taylor submitted a letter of interest in serving on the Special Events Committee.
