1 <br /> ` JOINT COMMUNITY USE AGREEMENT <br /> Y -MASHPEE SCHOOL CO E AND MASHPEE BOARD of SELECrMEN ON BEHALF <br /> OF THE MASHPEE LEISURE SERVICE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Mashpee, through the Leisure Service Department, seeks to develop and <br /> , = . P � P <br /> operate Park and Recreation facilities; to organize and administer public recreation programs; and to <br /> develop continuing educational activities for the community benefit; <br /> WBEREAS, the Town of Mashpee School Department has adopted a policy of making <br /> school <br /> buildings and grounds available <br /> for community recreation and continuing education purposes, <br /> provided there is no conflict with the operation <br /> of school activities; <br /> rn� <br /> WHEREAS, it is the wish of the Board of Selectmen, the Leisure Service Department, and the <br /> School Committee to maximize the use of school property for the benefit of the community; <br /> : WEEREAS, the parties wish to allocate the areas of responsibility between themselves; and <br /> :r •s ` WHEREAS, school buildings and other adjacent facilities are to be used and maintained in a safe <br /> condition and the property preserved in good condidon for school program use; <br /> Now,THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY AGREED BETWEEN THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN, <br /> . FOR ITSELF AND THE LEISURE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, AND THE SCHOOL <br /> CONEVlr=AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 0.14.. <br /> Y f.Y 1. The designated "Leisure Service office" (Room #3134) located within the High <br /> ' School building will be for the exclusive use of the Leisure Service Department; <br /> 2. For those days and hours when school facilities are not required for classroom <br /> ti instruction or otherwise committed for School Department or school related <br /> functions, the Leisure Service Department and the principals of the respective <br /> r schools shall jointly schedule the use of school facilities. <br /> 3. Coordination of activities and programs shall be done through the Leisure Service <br /> Office, and requests for use by all groups must be in writing and submitted to the <br /> Leisure Service Department. Priority of use for all indoor and outdoor facilities will <br /> be as follows: <br /> a) Pupil Groups/Sports Teams/School Faculty/School Committee <br /> b) School Sanctioned organizations (PTO's, etc.) <br /> C) Leisure Service Department <br /> d) Town Offices/Boards/Committees <br /> e) Community Service organizations that do not receive a benefit personally or <br /> organizationally (i.e. Scouts, Kiwanis, etc.) <br /> f) All other organizations as per School Committee Policies <br />
