Treatment plant has received verbal approval from
to go back on line. I co ncurr. pp DEP
2. Bottled water and coolers will be provided
and fac p ded to students
ulty _until flushing resumes and samples indicate ac-
ceptable levels of copper and leadbel
 ow MCL'S)
3. Indoor Air Quality:
a} In coming to my determination regarding '
alit for g ng indoor air
s y partial occupancy, I took the fallowing steps:
b} Spoke to Stetson Hall D' P
Director of BCDHE, who stated
in his opinion based on the results the school should be
granted partial occupancy,
p Y
C) I spoke to Tom Hamilton, OCCUHEALTH who c '
that the fun toxigenic con-firmed
armed
g are not toxigenic (due to them being found in
outdoor air) ,
d) Spoke to Al Campron i, (DPH - 617-5 3 4-5 7 5 7) ' he co -
f i rmed t con
-
f the levels do not warrant a health risk -- sug-
gested g
gested considering closing off the rooms with elevated fungi
g
and seclude them from the air circulation system '
y until the
_ levels do not exceed outdoor standards. ,
e• Spoke to Dr. Harriet Burge, Harvard School of Public
Health (617-432-4638) , THE expert on indoor airua l it for
q Y
New England, said we should allow the schoolartial occu-
pancybase p
d on the air quality results. She indicated that
all Cape Homes have higher fungi counts due to the humidity
and that the types of
yp fungi are not a risk to human health
unless one is extremely susceptible due to asthma.
My conclusion based on the above is that the Board of
Health should sign off on a partial occupancy permit,
