Selectman Caffyn <br /> Meeting Called to order by Chairman Costa at 9:00 a.m. <br /> Town Hall Conference Trailer. <br /> APPD NTS AND BEARINGS: <br /> Public HegrLng-Tax Classification:- , <br /> Selectman Costa opened the Public Hearing to hear comments on the <br /> allocation of the tax levy by classification of property. The purpose <br /> of said hearing is to solicit public comments on whether each <br /> classification Of property should have a different rate or whether the rate <br /> should be the same for all classifications. <br /> David Bailey,Director of Assessing, and Board of Assessors Leslie Greig <br /> and Kenneth Porter were present to discuss the tax classification with <br /> members of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Mr.Bailey presented the three options to the Board for consideration; <br /> 1. To split the tax rate <br /> 2. Small business exemption <br /> 3. Residential exemption <br /> Mr. Bailey recommended the Board adopt the residential factor of one, <br /> and maintain the equal tax rate with no small business or residential <br /> exemptions. <br /> Selectman Costa opened the Public Hearing to obtain comment. <br /> Evelyn Webb noted that she owns property in Weymouth, and the <br /> rate is$10 lower than the commercial rate. <br /> Being no further comment, Selectman Costa requested a vote from the <br /> Board to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Frye to close the Public Hearing. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> YQTE-,* Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Dinizio to adopt a residential <br /> factor of one, and deny the small business and residential <br /> exemption as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> YOTE,: Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
