September 30, 1996 Regular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the Regular <br /> Session minutes of Monday, September 30, 1995 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Caffyn. <br /> YOTE,: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Monday. October 7. 1996 Regular Session: <br /> Selectman Caffyn requested to amend the minutes to reflect on page two; <br /> to include additional information prior to the motion pertaining to the <br /> proposal to consider the sum of$750,000 from free cash to offset the <br /> tax rate. Amendment as follows; <br /> Senator Rauschenbach indicated that it is difficult to move a fiscal <br /> matter of this magnitude with the Legislature meeting informally. It <br /> was noted that a new session will begin in January, and the supplemental <br /> budget is expected to be filed at that time. <br /> As a result of the uncertain State funds for FY97, Selectman Caffyn <br /> proposed the sum of$750,00 be considered from free cash to offset <br /> the tax levy. To relieve the tax burden of our residents,the tax rate <br /> impact should not go over 2.5% indicated Selectman Caffyn who noted <br /> that the Town of Mashpee has one of the highest tax rates in the state <br /> of Massachusetts. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Caffyn to approve the Regular <br /> Session minutes of Monday, October 7, 1996 as amended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters. <br /> • Unanimous. 4-0. <br />
