Page 6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 16, 1996 <br /> APP NT AND HEARff QS. <br /> High&—hool Dis ion• <br /> Dr.Lincoln A.DeMoura, Superintendent of Schools was present with <br /> School Committee members, Steven Paxton, Kathleen Lynch,Janice Mills, <br /> and Theresa Cook to discuss and review the high school status with <br /> members of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Edward Frenette,Architect for Symmes, Maini, and McKee, and John 4 <br /> Williams,High School Principal were also present with High School <br /> Building Committee members,Paul Griffin, Steven Greelish, Joseph <br /> Polito, and Merry Sue Ahlgren. <br /> Discussion followed with respect tothe High School occupancy issue y <br /> . P <br /> and related correspondence as received from the Stone Building Company <br /> dated September 16, 1996. (enclosed) <br /> Responsibilities of the owner and thecontractor with respect to the <br /> Pe <br /> owners partial occupancy of the project was discussed. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to review all remaining punch list items <br /> . g <br /> pertaining to the partial occupancy of the A,B, and E sections of the <br /> school building, and forward a copy to the School Committee for review. <br /> To partially occupy the A, B,and E sections,the BuildingInspector <br /> P <br /> requires documentation from the architect acknowledging the school <br /> building is in compliance with the exception of the punch list items <br /> deemed cosmetic. <br /> Mr.Frenette indicated that the building meets the standard of the <br /> industryfor occupancy. The cleaning of the it F <br /> g e bu ding is all that remains, <br /> and the punch list items are within proportion of a$2o million dollar <br /> building stated Mr.Frenette who noted that the building will be <br /> properly cleaned when the Board votes to accept partial occupancy. ; <br /> Dr.DeMoura indicated that no safety issues currently exist. It is his <br /> opinion that the building is ready for partial occupancy. <br /> Steven Greeli sh recommended the Board defer approval until after the <br /> date of September 23, 1996 until all work is completed is accordance <br /> with the schedule of the project. <br /> Selectman Dinizio indicated that it has been determined by the architect, <br /> and regulatory officials that the building is ready for occupancy. Paul <br /> Griffin agreed, and recommended approval. <br />
