It was noted the Town of Mashpee is highly susceptible to the loss of the beach and
parking. Alternative long-term parking was considered as was the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness
Grant program to assist with this type of project.
It was noted the State Beach is state controlled and currently, the parking area cannot be used as an
overflow to access South Cape Beach. As a reach-alternative,the State would be consulted regarding the
use of the State Beach.
A solar kiosk is under consideration to recoup funds from non-residents for parking and the use of the
boat ramps.
Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to increase the resident sticker to $35, and non-resident sticker to
$75, and for further consideration to review future satellite parking to replace the South Cape beach
parking in the long-term.
Motion seconded by Selectmen Cahalane.
VOTE: 1-4.
