The total <br /> project cost is $100,500. <br /> The vote of the Community Preservation Committee was unanimous 7-0 in support of this <br /> article. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends Town Meeting approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> The Finance Committee recommends Town Meeting approval by a vote of 6-0. <br /> Motion made by Selectman John Cotton. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation <br /> Budgeted Reserve for Appropriation in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B, <br /> §5, the sum of$91,000 for the purpose of funding the Mashpee K.C. Coombs School Playground <br /> Improvement Project including necessary costs and expenses related thereto, as recommended by <br /> the Community Preservation Committee. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:20 PM. <br /> Article 1 l <br /> To see if the Town will vote to appropriate and transfer from the Community Preservation <br /> Budgeted Reserve in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 44B, §5, the sum of <br /> $230,000 for the purpose of funding the Mashpee Quashnet School Playground Improvement <br /> Project including necessary costs and expenses related thereto, as recommended by the <br /> Community Preservation Committee, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Community Preservation Committee <br /> Explanation: The goal of this project is to improve the playground facilities provided at the <br /> Quashnet School. The playground is a multi-component structure which would complement the <br /> additional playground equipment at the schools. Opportunities for children include balancing, <br /> climbing, sliding and strength conditioning. It would also promote problem solving and <br /> interactive play. The new equipment would replace the old wooden play structure. New <br /> surfacing would meet the requirements for fall protection and the structure would be handicap <br /> accessible. <br /> The vote of the Community Preservation Committee was unanimous 7-0 in support of this <br /> article. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends Town Meeting approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> The Finance Committee recommends Town Meeting approval by a vote of 6-0. <br /> 8 <br />
