Article 6 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to approve the annual regional school district budget for the Cape <br /> Cod Regional Technical High School District for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015, in the <br /> amount of $14,532,300 and further, to see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate <br /> $1,166,386 to meet its share of the cost of operation and maintenance of the Cape Cod Regional <br /> Technical High School District for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015, or take any other <br /> action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: Mashpee's share of the Regional Technical High School budget is $1,166,386. <br /> There are 62 students from Mashpee at the Regional Technical High School, an increase from 57 <br /> students last year. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval by a vote of 6-0, 1 absent. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Carol Sherman. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to approve the annual regional school district budget for the <br /> Cape Cod Regional Technical High School District for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015, in <br /> the amount of $14,532,300 and further, the Town vote to raise and appropriate $1,166,386 to <br /> meet its share of the cost of operation and maintenance of the Cape Cod Regional Technical <br /> High School District for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2015. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 7:55 PM. <br /> Article 7 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create an additional position of full-time (40 hours/week) <br /> Maintainer I in the Department of Public Works under the SEN, Local 888, AFL-CIO, Public <br /> Works Unit, and, for said purpose, vote to appropriate and transfer from revenue available for <br /> appropriation $57,489 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $37,727 to the Department of <br /> Public Works Salary/Wage Account; $19,179 to the Medical Insurance Account; $35 to the <br /> Group Insurance Account, and $548 to the Medicare Account, or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: The Maintainer I position for DPW assists with the daily maintenance of the <br /> Town's roads, parks, beaches, fields, cemeteries, and grounds. The position also works during <br /> snow events. A new position was last added in FY 2013. Since that time, the Town has <br /> accepted another 5 miles of road (for a total of 80 miles of Town roads), constructed another 2- <br /> mile sidewalk (for a total of 10 miles of multi-use paths/sidewalks), and has expanded or built <br /> numerous park facilities. An additional position will help ease the increasing demands and allow <br /> DPW to maintain the expected level of service. <br /> 11 <br />
