Article 9 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to create the full-time (40 hours/week) position of Desktop Support <br /> Technician in the Information Technology Department under the Personnel Administration Plan, <br /> Grade 9, Step 1, and, for said purpose, vote to appropriate and transfer from revenue available <br /> for appropriation $60,498 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $40,693 to the IT <br /> Department Salary/Wage Account; $19,179 to the Medical Insurance Account; $35 to the Group <br /> Insurance Account, and $591 to the Medicare Account, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: The Town's IT Department has two full-time employees and is responsible for all <br /> Town-wide technology. As you know, technology is ever changing, creating a more complex <br /> network of personal computers, laptops, servers, applications, databases, telephone systems and <br /> building security systems. This requires our current staff to spend a great deal of time on <br /> evaluating and implementing products to keep our technology environment safe, while making <br /> sure our employees have the equipment they need to carry out their daily duties and <br /> responsibilities. This position if approved will focus on providing user support for seven Town <br /> buildings, and assist at 3 schools when required. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> The Finance Committee recommends approval by a vote of 6-0, 1 absent. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Wayne Taylor. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to create the full-time (40 hours/week) position of Desktop <br /> Support Technician in the Information Technology Department under the Personnel <br /> Administration Plan, Grade 9, Step 1, and, for said purpose, vote to appropriate and transfer from <br /> revenue available for appropriation $60,498 with said funds to be distributed as follows: $40,693 <br /> to the IT Department Salary/Wage Account; $19,179 to the Medical Insurance Account; $35 to <br /> the Group Insurance Account, and $591 to the Medicare Account. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 8:01 PM. <br /> 13 <br />
