Article 29 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to discontinue that portion of Job's Fishing Road located between <br /> Route 28 and Great Neck Road South,to the extent, if any, that said portion of said road may be a <br /> town way, or take any other action relating thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> Explanation: This portion of Job's Fishing Road does not exist on the ground and is not used by <br /> the public. Furthermore,there is no plan establishing or showing the layout of this road as a public <br /> way on record at the Registry of Deeds. Donna's Lane, located a short distance to the south, was <br /> laid out as a public way and provides adequate public access from Route 28 to Great Neck Road <br /> South. Accordingly, the Town Meeting is requested to discontinue the public rights, if any, in this <br /> portion of Job's Fishing Road. <br /> The Board of Selectmen recommends approval by a vote of 5-0. <br /> Finance Committee recommends approval by a vote of 5-0, 2 absent. <br /> Motion made by Selectman John Cahalane. <br /> Motion: I move the Town vote to discontinue that portion of Job's Fishing Road located between <br /> Route 28 and Great Neck Road South,to the extent, if any, that said portion of said road may be a <br /> town way. <br /> Motion passes unanimously at 8:36 PM. <br /> Article 30 <br /> To see if the Town will vote to authorize the Board of Selectmen, on behalf of the Town and/or <br /> jointly with the Board of Water Commissioners of the Mashpee Water District, to petition the <br /> General Court for special legislation to supersede and/or amend applicable provisions of the <br /> Mashpee Home Rule Charter and Bylaws for the purpose of transferring to the Mashpee Water <br /> District, or such autonomous Water and Sewer District as may be created to succeed said Mashpee <br /> Water District, all legal authority and jurisdiction to serve the public sewer/waste water treatment <br /> and disposal needs of the Town of Mashpee; said special legislation to include <br /> provisions authorizing the transfer to, and assumption by the newly created District of all public <br /> sewer/ waste water treatment and disposal jurisdiction, powers, responsibilities, and <br /> assets currently possessed by the Town of Mashpee and its Sewer Commission pursuant to <br /> applicable provisions of General Law, the Mashpee Home Rule Charter, Bylaws, Regulations of <br /> the Town, or otherwise, as well as prospective public sewer/waste water treatment and disposal <br /> jurisdiction, powers and responsibilities with respect to the geographical territory of the Town <br /> of Mashpee; and, further, subject to and contingent upon the adoption of such special legislation, <br /> to vote to rescind the Town Meeting's previous action authorizing the election of Sewer <br /> Commissioners pursuant to General Laws Chapter 41, § 63, or take any other action relating <br /> thereto. <br /> Submitted by the Board of Selectmen <br /> 32 <br />
