Dami <br /> Town Clerk <br /> Town of Mashpee <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Mashpee, MA 02649 <br /> RE: Mashpee Fall Annual Town Meeting of October 15, 2012 - Cases # 6525 and 6571 <br /> Warrant Articles # 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 (General) <br /> Dear Ms. Dami: <br /> Article 8 - We approve the amendments to the Town's by-laws adopted under Article 8 <br /> on the Warrant for the Mashpee Fall Annual Town Meeting that convened on October 15, 2012. <br /> On November 7, 2012, the Town submitted a by-law package to the Attorney General <br /> from the October 15, 2012 Fall Annual Town Meeting and that submission was assigned Case # <br /> 6525. Article 8 was omitted from that original by-law submission. As such, on November 30, <br /> 2012, when the Town submitted Article 8 from the October 15, 2012 Fall Annual Town Meeting, <br /> it was assigned a separate number (Case# 6571). <br /> Articles 9, 10, 11 and 12 - We remind the Town that on November 7, 2012 this Office <br /> issued a decision approving Articles 9, 10, 11 and 12 from the October 15, 2012 Fall Annual <br /> Town Meeting in Case # 6525. <br /> Note: Pursuant to G.L. c. 40, § 32, neither general nor zoning by-laws take effect unless the Town <br /> has first satisfied the posting/publishing requirements of that statute. Once this statutory <br /> duty is fulfilled, (1) general by-laws and amendments take effect on the date these posting <br /> and publishing requirements are satisfied unless a later effective date is prescribed in the <br /> by-law, and (2) zoning by-laws and amendments are deemed to have taken effect from the <br /> date they were approved by the Town Meeting, unless a later effective date is prescribed in <br /> the by-law. <br />
