6 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 4, 2019 <br /> AFFORDABLE HOUSING PRESENTATIONS: <br /> Mashpee Housing Authority: Executive Director Leila Botsford: <br /> Fran Laporte spoke on behalf of the Mashpee Housing Authority. For insight into the discussion, Mr. <br /> Laporte brought forth the following statistical information; <br /> In the Town of Mashpee, the Mashpee Housing Authority maintains; <br /> 24 units of elderly/disabled state public housing <br /> 6 units of family state public housing—Breezy Acres <br /> 56 units of affordable housing for persons 55 and over—Asher's Path <br /> 10 units of family affordable housing—Great Cove Community <br /> 38 project based Massachusetts Rental Voucher program vouchers at Mashpee Village <br /> 31 mobile Massachusetts Rental Voucher program vouchers in the Mashpee community—scattered <br /> In addition,the Mashpee Housing Authority administers the Housing Assistance Program, <br /> monitors the Bridges of Mashpee (6 units/assisted living), and monitors Laurentide of Mashpee; affordable <br /> units of assisted living. <br /> The Mashpee Housing Authority responded to the request of the State of Massachusetts for guidance and <br /> also manages the Brewster Housing Authority 69 units and their voucher program. The Carver Housing <br /> Authority; 36 units of state public housing is also managed by the Mashpee Housing Authority along with <br /> the Mattapoisett Housing Authority, 64 units of state public housing. <br /> The Mashpee Housing Authority is comprised of the Executive Director, Leila Botsford, and 12 staff <br /> members. Oversight agencies include; DHCD, Mass Housing, Mass Housing Investment Corp, Spectrum <br /> Enterprises, Barnstable County Home Program and Mass Housing Partnership. <br /> Mary Waygan, Planning Board Chair applauded the efforts of the Mashpee Housing Authority in promoting <br /> affordable housing units in the Town of Mashpee vital for affordable housing, and of their efforts to expand <br /> their services to assist other towns. <br />
