6 Board of Selectmen Minutes March 4, 2019 AFFORDABLE HOUSING PRESENTATIONS: Mashpee Housing Authority: Executive Director Leila Botsford: Fran Laporte spoke on behalf of the Mashpee Housing Authority. For insight into the discussion, Mr. Laporte brought forth the following statistical information; In the Town of Mashpee, the Mashpee Housing Authority maintains; 24 units of elderly/disabled state public housing 6 units of family state public housing—Breezy Acres 56 units of affordable housing for persons 55 and over—Asher's Path 10 units of family affordable housing—Great Cove Community 38 project based Massachusetts Rental Voucher program vouchers at Mashpee Village 31 mobile Massachusetts Rental Voucher program vouchers in the Mashpee community—scattered In addition,the Mashpee Housing Authority administers the Housing Assistance Program, monitors the Bridges of Mashpee (6 units/assisted living), and monitors Laurentide of Mashpee; affordable units of assisted living. The Mashpee Housing Authority responded to the request of the State of Massachusetts for guidance and also manages the Brewster Housing Authority 69 units and their voucher program. The Carver Housing Authority; 36 units of state public housing is also managed by the Mashpee Housing Authority along with the Mattapoisett Housing Authority, 64 units of state public housing. The Mashpee Housing Authority is comprised of the Executive Director, Leila Botsford, and 12 staff members. Oversight agencies include; DHCD, Mass Housing, Mass Housing Investment Corp, Spectrum Enterprises, Barnstable County Home Program and Mass Housing Partnership. Mary Waygan, Planning Board Chair applauded the efforts of the Mashpee Housing Authority in promoting affordable housing units in the Town of Mashpee vital for affordable housing, and of their efforts to expand their services to assist other towns.
