HUMAN SERVICE—PUBLIC SESSION <br /> FEBRUARY 21, 2019—2:00 P.M. <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL—OCKWAY MEETING ROOM <br /> Committee Members Present: Also Present: <br /> John Cahalane Gail Wilson, Human Services Director <br /> Lynne Waterman <br /> Frank Fantasia <br /> Lynne Barbee <br /> Veronica Warden <br /> Members Absent: <br /> Ebony Steele <br /> Mary Bradbury <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman John Cahalane called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENTS—None <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Guest Presenter—Vaira Harik, Barnstable County Department of Human Services <br /> Gail Wilson, Director, introduced Vaira Harik, Senior Project Manager, Barnstable <br /> County Department of Human Services. She gave a power point presentation on <br /> Substance Abuse which included: <br /> Substance Use Disorders & Deaths, in Barnstable County for 2017 <br /> Town of Mashpee Opioid Related Deaths and EMS Responses <br /> Addressing Substance Use—Barnstable County Regional Substance Use Council <br /> (RSAC)—which included town representatives, Health care and treatment professionals, <br /> members of the recovery community, prevention and recovery specialists, elected <br /> officials, law enforcement officials and community coalitions. <br /> She then reviewed the Organizational Chart of RSAC of which Gail Wilson is a <br /> member. She also reviewed the SAPC Grants, MOAPC Grants. <br /> She spoke about Opioid Overdoes: Analysis and Prevention, Youth-focused Substance <br /> Use Prevention and the Opioid-Related Deaths in Barnstable County from 2004 to 2014. <br /> She looked at Age, gender and race, education level of decedents, employment.
