A motion was made to thank Mr. Stan
Healy for the years of excellent service to the Town of Mashpee and the Waterways
Commission, made by Don MacDonald and second by Stephen Mone with a unanimous
approval.
Ken also reported that the Audubon property availability for sand nourishment status was still
pending.
Old Business:
Harbor Master Report: Rick York reported that the Town has made a conditional offer for the
position of Harbor Master to their first choice from a field of qualified applicants. It is hoped the
Harbor Master position will be filled as soon as possible. Rick also reported that Mashpee has
purchased the Mooring info management plan software. Stephen Mone mentioned that this
amazing plan, a cloud-based application, reduces the time to not only issue new and renewed
mooring locations, but will display waitlists, employee work hours, harbor master's log, location
and condition of moorings and vessels at these moorings, identification of actual vessels
compared with vessels registered for the mooring location, inspection status as well as libraries
of regulations associated with our Waterways. Both public and Town employee only access to
the automated harbor master management system could be made available. Ken mentioned
the possibility of implementing a dinghy storage rack fee and waitlist option. A great deal of
discussion was had regarding the revenue generating possibilities for the Waterways
Improvement Fund and how the waitlist should incorporate a resident vs non resident ranking.
Further discussion was needed before making any recommendations due to the varying sites in
the town where dinghies are stored and the fact that not all sites have rack storage.
