Mrs. Doyle reported that following an audit at the Town Fall, it was revealed that duce months of the K. C.
Coombs School Council n inutes were missing. Traditionally, the K. C. Coombs School Council minutes
were collectively filed with the Town Hall at the end of the year. New polio dictates that the K. C. Coombs
School Council Minutes should be sent to Town Hall, following their approval,at the end of every month,
B. The K. C. Coombs School Council members discussed Mrs. Couohlan concerns that were raised during
open forum.
I. There are no standard policies regarding when students have to miss recess as a punishment. If at all
possible, teachers try to avoid keeping a student from x i sing recess.Teachers do look at discipline
options and make sure that the punishment fits the given misdeed. However, there are rare times where
a student may have to forfeit recess due to a given discipline issue
2. Inclement weather requires indoor recess.
D. Measures that are currently being used during indoor recess that allow students to burn off excess
energy include allowing groups of students: to use the gyne; to wally around the school corridors with
teachers/aids- to play board games with their peen in the classroom.
. The students are allowed to talk to their peers utilizing an appropriate conversational volume. Yelling
and screaming are not allowed. Students are periodically relTninded to monitor thee'volume. Teachers
will ask stridents to be silent at certain points of the Zurich, so that all Students can hear/litems to
dismissal directions
5. All lunch groups have consistent teacher/aide presence during lunch. Students have the same teachers
assigned to their lunchtime every day.
. Many of the playground incidents are not reported to staff,by the students. when staff are notified
about a possible injury, the staff mmember sends the student to the nurse's office.Due to sheer numbers
students that the nurse sees daily, there is very little time for her to personally contact even parent.
pai-eats will be immediately notified,by the nurse or Mrs. Doyle, that their child has been hurt when
there is ars injury.
