Mashpee waterways Commission <br /> AGnates of the June 12th,2012 Meeting <br /> The reefing was called to order by Chairman Ken Bates at :1 AM Meeting Room 2,Mashpee <br /> Town Hall. <br /> Present were: Ken des,Al Wic el,Steve Pinard,Paul Zanunito and Bill Taylor. <br /> Absent: Tin Leedham,perry Ellis <br /> Alsom-sent: Rick York-Shellfish Constable, Stephen Mone-Harbormaster <br /> Voted unanimous approval of minutes of May 8th,2012 meeting. Motion by Steve Pinard, <br /> second by Al wickel <br /> Correspondence Massachusetts TOY Repot Notice of project change for Town of Mashpee <br /> Watershed Nitrogen agement plan,UMASS Dartmouth invoice for Town,of Mashpee 2011 <br /> Water Quality testing program,Town of Mashpee BA work-up dealing with construction and <br /> maintaining of a private landing,stairway,pier,ramp and float on Ockway Bay <br /> _ <br /> Committee Reports: <br /> Harbortnaster Report: Stephen done r p W that Disk Cook had requcsW permission <br /> to install.two signs near his current aquaculture gmnt in Oek ay Bay in hopes It would reduce <br /> damage caused by passing boats. <br /> Voted unanimous approval for recommending approval to BOS for permission as requested,Dick <br /> Cook would furnish, install and maintain at the current grant location signage as directed by the <br /> shellfish constable and maintained under tUrbor Master review. Motion by Steve Pinard,second <br /> by Paul Zamrnito. <br /> Stephen also mentioned that in response to boater's roque t,he would like to install temporary <br /> channel markers running from Ockway Bay landing out to popponesset Bay. <br /> Voted unanimously approval for supporting Harbormaster west to BOS his proposal to install <br /> temporary markers at locations he would determine to best deme recommended travel through <br /> the shallow waters.Motion Paul pito, second by Steve Pinard <br /> Slow no wake signs and additlotal.aids,to navigation,markers were-installed. <br /> Improvements were xotcedlocal boaters and much apprec'ated, Stephen shared. <br /> Steve Pinard asked if any additional thought had been given to the off shore entrance <br /> buoy to Popponesset Bay. The one mile entrance buoy to Popponesset Bay was still <br /> the planning stages. Stephen-said he would address the issue once the existing markers <br /> had been properly placed.. Discussions followed.on the lack of signage in the entrance <br /> channel to Waquoit Bay. There seems to be slow-no wake signage is . Stephen <br /> mentioned he is working with his Falmouth counterparts,he also mentioned he received a <br /> letter addressmg the existence of illegal signage m the waters of Popponesset_Bay. <br /> Further research was necessary before-action would be taken dealing with this. <br /> Shellfish Report: Rick reported that,there would be a dedication,service.at <br /> Mashpee Neck f.anA honor of Ed Baker this weekend. He also reported-the Dick <br /> Cook's new grant proposal was with the Conservation Commission and continued from a <br /> previous meeting until this weeks meeting. He also said there was still opposition being <br /> made to the grant proposal. Rick mentioned some good.news concerning the blue-green <br /> algae blooms on Santuit fond.
