1 <br /> Z <br /> Mashpee Waterways Commission <br /> Minutes f the November 8th,2011 Meting <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Ken Bates at 9:03AM Meeting Room , Mashpee <br /> Town Hall. <br /> Present were: Ken Bates, Al Wickel, Paul Zammito and Bill Taylor. Tim Leedham and Steve <br /> Pinard were available on tele-conference. <br /> Absent: rola <br /> Also.Present: lick York- Shellfish Constable, Stephen Mone-,Mashpee Harbormaster, Mike <br /> Richardson BS Liaison)and resident Dick Cook <br /> motion to approve the September 1 Ih meeting minutes was made by Bill Taylor, second by Al <br /> 'nickel and unanimously approved. <br /> motion t approve the October I Vh meeting minutes was made y Steve Pinard, second by Tim <br /> Leedham and unanimously approved. <br /> Correspondence- Information was received concerning the new procedures for transferring <br /> approved minutes for archival storage electronically from Town Clerk, Deb 1 arni. Additional <br /> inf rnnati n was received in the form of a memorandum c neemi ng the Meeting Calendar for <br /> 2012. Al Wickel reported there seemed to be no conflicts next year with regard to the 2d <br /> Tuesday's of each month for planning purposes for future W'aterway's meetings. <br /> Richard Cook addressed the Commission regarding his desires to begin a new filing process for a <br /> different site for his aquaculture endeavors. He mentioned the two year process that may be <br /> required in getting approval for his current desired site would prove to be too much a financial <br /> hardship.The new site would be a roughly rectangular area,three to four acres, further to the east <br /> and beyond the current b'ribe's aquaculture grant. This location would be as far away as possible <br /> from his original request and still be in Mashpee Town's waters. Discussion and questions put <br /> forth from Chairman Bates required Mr. Cook to demonstrate a more precise drawing and <br /> location of his request to ensure there would be a 150" buffer from channels of navigation and <br /> Town boundaries. Mr. Bates mentioned he would research issues that may affect future <br /> maintenance dredge efforts later in the day. Mr. Cook continued his presentation and explained <br /> that this new site was less attractive for productivity issues, but hoped that previous opposition <br /> would find this location less of a concern. <br /> Mr. Brian Wahl requested.and was granted a few minutes to explain to the Commission the <br /> concerns ofthe parties he represented. <br /> motion was made by Bill Taylor to table further discussions regarding Mr. Cook's's request unt]l <br /> November 22d here in Town Hall meeting room#2. It was second by Tint Leedham, opposed b <br /> Al Wielel and pased. This new meeting date covers the two weeks prior notification Mr. Wall <br /> requested. <br /> Committee Deports: <br /> Harbormaster.Feport: Stephen Mone reported he was making some headway in cleaning up and <br /> preparing the various Town landings for winter. .He has removed with the help of Town DPW <br />
