ONO <br /> waquoit Bay: Rick York reported that the Bay has been quiet and not many boats <br /> were out. <br /> Water Quality: Rick York reported that the quality of water in the ponds and Bays <br /> had improved xpr ved noticeably as is usual for this time of year, water clarity was ver <br /> noticeable in most areas. Rick noted that Santuit Pond has the most problems, and a test <br /> unit has been placed. More brown material was noted than usual this time of year and <br /> possible the winter algae bloom had begun. A test of lowering the water level b opening <br /> g <br /> the dam, and measuring for noticeable impact both in the pond and lower flown the river <br /> to Shoestring Bay was underway. Rick York stated that tests, bothenin- <br /> reo the clam <br /> p p g <br /> and then after opening, had been and are being clone so a valid measurement of imp .et. <br /> can be evaluated, igen Bates advised the he and Steve Pinard are looking for ways to et <br /> the g <br /> Waterways Commission more involved in the water Quality effort. Steve will be <br /> exploring ways as to how more help can be provided to the water Quality Testing <br /> Program. <br /> Sixth Modeling Run: Iden Bates reported that he is awaiting more data, from the <br /> Applied Coastal Research and Engineering regarding the question of what happens to the <br /> adjacent charnels geomrfologically if we dredge a channel through the flood tide delta <br /> (Low Tide Island) in Popponesset Bay, and until it has been received, no <br /> recommendations can be developed and made to the Board of Selectmen. <br /> New Business: <br /> draft Town Report for the year 2008 is beingworked on Ken Bates and <br /> Steve Pinard and soon will be seat to Commission Members for review. <br /> Ren Bates reported that an Ocean Advisory Commission imeetinyr+is scheduled to <br /> ipublic.be held n Boston, and s open to the public.
