Recreational users with interests <br /> such as kite surfers, beach users, recreational shellers, and small boat users, and that these <br /> users need to be considered in the approval process of this grant request. <br /> Olt Business Continued <br /> i <br /> Iden Bates reinforced that recreational concerns made the preparation and <br /> submittal of a formal plan, including submitting a detailed neap of the grant area was <br /> essential for a waterways Commission review and recommendation to the Selectmen. <br /> Ken again requested that the waterways Commission needed to see this plan in order to <br /> effectively provide input and continents on it. Additional comments from attendees <br /> included Ernie virgilli , Toni Smith, Dr. Keane, Gretchen Hairy. <br /> The major questions asked by the waterways Commission were: Does the <br /> proposed location and required gear to be used, create problems with public access to the <br /> area? Specific areas of concern were Navigation, Swimming, Fishing, Hunting (fowling) <br /> and Shelling. <br /> Specific information needed to adequately address these questions included <br /> proposed coordinates of the area to be used and a formal engineered plan with project <br /> details were outlined again by Ken Bates. <br /> Hearing closed at :20PM <br /> . Harbormaster Report Fern Ellis:Significant boating activity tabes place lion <br /> through Thursday, however sharply increased activity tales place on Friday <br /> through Sunday. This past week end was the busiest day in recent memory with <br /> an astronomical level of boats. His boats ran "full tilt". � <br /> 3. Shellfish Report Rich York: Planted 200,000 scallop seeds along with a bonus <br /> amount of 1.5 million more. He reported that there have been complaints from <br /> clarners, that high speed boats were operating through shallow sand flats east of <br /> the channel Hurlers, Mashpee side),Just inside ofWaquolt Bay. Significant <br /> scarring of these sand flats has resulted. <br /> . Committee Reports <br /> Fresh Water—Perry Ellis: very busy activity, citations issued,jet ski problems, <br /> new people not l no ledgeablejacl of PFD"s,high speed operation, endangering <br /> swimmers. Jet Ski speeds 7to - mph very dangerous.
