Water a s 1mrovement Ilan and Dredging Permits—Jing Hams <br /> Mashpee River Dredge project—Jim Hanks ret with Glen Harrington to pursue the idea of using <br /> the transfer station further and discuss the salinity,issue. That had not been addressed in the <br /> prior conversations. Jim Hanks is looking further into the approved test method for determining <br /> soil conductivity. <br /> Jim also discussed the topics he planned to discuss with Perry,Ellis, Joyce Mason, and Chuckle <br /> Green. The topics are first the maintenance dredging this season—theprice of dredging has <br /> increased due to fuel costs, so we will be paying more. We don't have enough money to use the <br /> booster. We would like to plan in the future to budget for using the booster to nourish the spit <br /> where it is most needed to preserve the spit's function as a barrier beach. Save Popponesset had <br /> offered to pick up the booster cost, so we suggest we contact them to try to arrange that. <br /> Secondly, out permits expire in 2007. We thinly we will 1 need a consultants help., so recommend <br /> planning an article in the May 'down Meeting to fund that work. <br /> Third, Save i opponesset Bay advises us that they are renewing their permit to dredge mound the <br /> tip of Poppones et Island, and also looking into the need and cost for permitting dredging from <br /> where they dredge to where the'down dredges. <br /> Page 2 of <br />
