The plan includes the protection and
maintenance of waterways. Erie Smith, Assistant Town Planner, is the Chairman of this
committee. The federal government wants towns to have a plan in place for natural disasters.
Towns that do not have a plan may lose federal dollars when a disaster strikes. This topic will become a regular item on
the Waterways Conrrrmission agenda.
Finally, John S art Baugh informed commission members that the Town of Mashpee is seeking
to televise as many of the town commission meetings as possible. In light of this, every other
Waterways Commission meeting will be televised beginning with the October 7, 2003etin .
g
Televised meetings will be held in Conference Room I at Town Hall.
At this point, Tim Hanks made a motion to adjourn the meeting; Herb Silver seconded the
motion.
