He also noted that the country dredge was currently <br /> working in the outer channel of Popponesst Bay. Jing Hanks presented photographs of the <br /> dredge activity. <br /> Waterways Bylaws and Regulations--Jim Hanks <br /> There was no activity. <br /> Water Quality Update—Jim Hanks <br /> Nothing to report at this time of year. Jim mentioned that he recently talked to Brian <br /> Howes who said he is working on the water duality report. Jing said it is unclear whether <br /> volunteer water duality monitoring will.be done this summer. <br /> . Sever Commission Citizens Advisqn Committee—Paul Lumsden <br /> Paul reported that there was no meeting held during the past month. <br /> . Barnstable C2MIX Coastal Resources Committee Update—Gerald Daly <br /> Jerry noted that a meeting was held in February,but he was unable to attend. He said Don <br /> Liptak was scheduled to spear about the Soil Conservation Service Grant. <br /> i <br /> . Wat r ays Improvement Flan,and Dredgigg Permit —Jim Danks <br /> i lashpee Raver Dredge Project and Conservation Land Issue—Jim Hanks stated that <br /> Selectman Chuckle Green helped arrange a meeting with Glenn Marshall of the Mashpee <br /> Wampanoag Tribe regarding the disposition of dredged materials from the 1lashpee River. <br /> Glenn expressed interest In applying the dredged materials to the tribe's composting <br /> facility at Maushop Stables and noted that they would have to overcome the problem of <br /> getting the materials to the composting site. The positive aspects of applying the 1lashpee <br /> River dredge materials to this site are that it is located near brackish water and that it is not <br /> In a protected wetlands area. <br /> Glenn and Jim also discussed the reasons that some tribal members spore at Town Meeting <br /> last fall against the proposed use of the conservation land site along River Road for <br /> lashpee River dredged material. Glenn said the size of the proposed parcel was not an <br /> issue with them; it was simply a lack of information that created concern about the <br /> proposed activity. <br /> Jim and Glenn agreed to meet again in the near future. <br /> Page 2 of <br />
