After a discussion regarding the candidates qualifications, <br /> the Commission voted unanimously in favor of William E. Rowland. <br /> Mr. Lund made a motion to recommend William E. Rwand for an <br /> appointment as a Waterways n ►i i n r, it was seconded by <br /> Mr. Silver, and unanimously voted in favor. <br /> Mr. Hanks asked about an alternate member, and Dr. Gordon noted <br /> that this would require a By Law revision. <br /> 125th AN IVER AR BOAT PARADE STATUS: Mr. Silver stated that <br /> the boat parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 1st, with a <br /> raindate of Sunday, July 2nd. It will begin at 10: 00 a.m. i <br /> waquoit Bay with numbers being distributed to identify boats. <br /> Departure will be at 11 : 00 a,m, A video will be taken and <br /> coverage on a VHS station will occur. Judges will be stationed <br /> n South Cape Beach, and prizes and grinners will, be .announced <br /> one week. later. Two picnics will be held afterward,' one at <br /> Popponesset and the other at- waquoit.- Application to the Coast <br /> Guard has been completed, and the Harbormaster will provide <br /> two boats . Flyers and registration for this event will be <br /> included with the package of information being distributed by <br /> the Harbormaster to boat owners this week. The event will be <br /> advertised on cable Tv and Channel 9 . Mr. Silver- will be meeting <br /> with Bill McKay on Wednesday to finalize details. Entry boats <br /> will be asked to give their name, phone number, boat size, and <br /> designation as either sail or dower boat; this will help to <br /> estimate numbers attending. Cape Cod Five has agreed to collect <br /> the information. Mr. Silver will be one of the judges., Any <br /> changes or cancellation announcements will be broadcast over <br /> the radio. <br /> COASTAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE: Mr, Hanks stated that <br /> they met on May 25th, 1995, but there was no quorum to take <br /> any action. <br /> REVIEW OF BOATING BROCHURES HANDOUTS: Mr. Ellis reported that <br /> he ordered 1500 copies of boating brochures. Dr. Gordon read <br /> aloud the letter sent to the Board of Sr-- . of-as i g <br /> approval to spend up to $1 , 000 from -the) Viaterways 1-Japrovei-nerit <br /> Fund for signage at ramps and 1500 copies of boating brochures <br /> for distribution to boaters this summer. <br /> HARBORMASTER REPORT: Mr. Ellis stated everything is on schedule; <br /> boats are running well. Mr. Ellis made a correction to the <br /> 1995 - update which Mr. Hanks will take care of.. Mr. Ellis stopped <br /> l boats over Memorial weekend and found no registrations <br /> on new boats and 12 overdue registrations * one boat was rescued <br /> that was sinking. <br /> COUNTY DREDGESTATUS: Mr. Silver stated he contacted Mr. <br /> Groetzke and rade an appointment to go over with him the permits <br /> that have been started. Dr. Gordon stressed the importance <br />
