Mr. Harrington commented that,for mobile food vendors only, <br /> the new food code left the requirement for a commissary up to boards of health. He reminded <br /> the board that we have a local regulation requiring commissaries,and recommended maintaining <br /> that requirement. Also,the federal government relaxed its mechanical refrigeration requirement. <br /> Mr. Harrington stated that mechanical refrigeration had been required for the past eight years, <br /> but vendors can now put potentially hazardous foods(PHFs) on ice. Board members agreed that <br /> ice does not keep PHFs at temp, but the requirement for mechanical refrigeration is already in <br /> our local regulation, so no action was necessary. Ms. Langler advised the board that there is no <br /> definition of"Commissary"in our local regulation or in the new state code,and the FDA definition <br /> of commissary says"see Food Establishment definition." <br /> There being no further comments or discussion, Mallory Langler moved to strike the word <br /> "Commissary" from Section 4, #11 of the Mobile Food Regulation and replace it with the term <br /> "Licensed Food Establishment",and to remove "in accordance with State Sanitary Code 105 CMR <br /> 590.009.b.12". Motion seconded by Laurel Almquist. VOTE: Unanimous (3-0). <br /> 4. Nomination of Inspector of Animals. Mr. Harrington advised the board that they are only voting <br /> to make a nomination. The Mass Department of Natural Resources does the appointing. <br /> There being no further comments or discussion,Laurel Almquist moved to nominate Don Chicoine <br /> and Veronica Warden as the Inspector of Animals for the Town of Mashpee.
