MASHPEE COMMUNITY GARDEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCGAC) <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> APRIL 17,2019 - 7:00 P.M. <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL, OCKWAY MEETING ROOM <br /> 16 Great Neck Road North <br /> Present: Virginia Scharfenberg, Michael Talbot, Pamela McCarthy, Irene Checkovich <br /> Absent: Mohammed Fand, Stephanie Simpson, Anthony Oliver <br /> Also Present: Richard DeSorgher, Mashpee Historical Commission <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Virginia Scharfenberg opened the meeting at 7:04 p.m. <br /> APPROVAL of MARCH 20, 2019 MINUTES - Hold <br /> COMMUNICATIONS and CORRESPONDENCE <br /> Correspondence with Asst. Town Manager (Virginia) <br /> Virginia stated she drafted a summary of the March 5` meeting she had with Rodney Collins, Town <br /> Manager and Wayne Taylor, Assistant Town Manager. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Town of Mashpee web page: MCGAC update (Mohamad) <br /> Status of applications being sent to people interested in garden plot (Mohamad) <br /> The Chair stated she spoke to Wayne Taylor and he made sure all three of our documents were <br /> uploaded to the website. He said the problem is you can't give people access to the website to do <br /> any edits they want to and suggested the Community Gardens set up their own website. She noted <br /> Terrie Cook in the Town Manager's Office will be handling the MCGAC's funds for now. <br /> Pamela stated she would set up a link on social media and she will make it clear how to download the <br /> application along with the indemnity form and forward them with a check to town hall. Irene noted <br /> there is a dedicated URL and suggested having the Enterprise and/or the Cape Cod Times do a story <br /> on the Gardens and reference the URL. Michael Talbot stated he will set up a Facebook page. <br /> Meeting of 3/5/19 with Rodney Collins and Wayne Taylor: update on request for revolving account <br /> set- up and Town document to be approved by Advisory Committee today (Virginia) <br /> There was a discussion on setting up the revolving account. They were hoping to set up the account <br /> at the October town meeting. <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Continued discussion of working groups - new garden planning, garden application processing, <br /> garden amendments including soil and fencing, garden maintenance during the growing season, <br /> donation outreach <br /> 1 <br />
