COUNCIL ON AGING MINUTES <br /> MEETING APRIL 10, 2019 <br /> MASHPEE SENIOR CENTER <br /> Present: Council on Aging Members: David Egel, Marijo Gorney, Jean Noussee, <br /> Norah McCormick, Virginia McIntyre and Council on Aging Director Lynne <br /> Waterman and Outreach Coordinator Lauren Haddad <br /> Also Present: Julie Silva, Activity Coordinator and Michael Murphy, Applicant for <br /> Board Vacancy <br /> Chairman David Egel opened the meeting at 9:00 a.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES: March 13, 2019 minutes <br /> Motion: Jean Noussee moved to approve the March 13 minutes, seconded by <br /> Marijo Gorney. Vote 4-0-1 with Virginia McIntyre abstaining. <br /> Public Comment— None <br /> COMMUNICATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE <br /> The Director reviewed a letter of interest from Michael Murphy who expressed interest <br /> in becoming a member of the Council on Aging who will be interviewed later in the <br /> meeting. She also noted another candidate will be coming in at the June meeting. <br /> The Director introduced Julie Silva, the Activity Coordinator. <br /> Director's Report <br /> The Director distributed her report for the month of March. She highlighted she met <br /> with several leaders of various ongoing activities. She met with an attorney from South <br /> Coastal Counties Legal Services and asked them to do a presentation on reverse <br /> mortgages and on medical benefits. The Director noted they purchased two new <br /> TVs/panels for the senior center. The Director noted the newsletters are dropped off at <br /> various locations thru the mini bus and the Outreach Coordinator went with the bus <br /> driver to the drop off areas and connected with the point person at each location. <br /> The Director reviewed the monthly meetings she attended and stated she attended <br /> along with the Volunteer & Activity Coordinate the Massachusetts Councils on Aging <br /> Meeting. She completed the Healthy Aging checklist and she has been working with the <br /> Volunteer Coordinator to revise the Council on Aging's webpage. She stated one of her <br />
