11
Board of Selectmen
Minutes
May 20, 2019
TOWN MANAGER UPDATES (continued)
A new and higher deductible health care plan is available for all Town employees. Open
enrollments ended on Friday and several employees have chosen this option. This will represent
a cost savings to the employee and to the Town of Mashpee.
With regards to safe waterways, the Town is seeking to expand the Popponesset Channel
Approach to widen the Spit.
The Mashpee Police Department has recently purchased a mutually owned Vantage F3 Robot to
be used under high risk tactical situations with the use of drug forfeiture funds.
The Council on Aging is considering reducing their membership from 7 to 5 members. A
possible Town Meeting article would bring forth this recommended change.
Through the Builders Risk Policy, $6,065 has been returned from the Quashnet School project.
With the absence of the Building Inspector, Richard Stevens, the retired Building Inspector will
be assisting the Town on a temporary basis. The terms and conditions of the agreement will be
recommended by Town Counsel.
