5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> May 20, 2019 <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following Special Events with Temporary Sign Permits: <br /> 35t" Annual Autumn Escape Bike Trek: American Lung Association: <br /> The Board of Selectmen was in receipt of a Special Event Application from the American Lung <br /> Association for the 35th Annual Autumn Escape Bike Trek on Friday, September 27, 2019 <br /> through Sunday, September 29, 2019. <br /> A maximum of 350 participants are scheduled to pass through the Town of Mashpee on Friday, <br /> September 27, 2019 between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Cyclists will be instructed to <br /> ride safely and follow all traffic rules and regulations. There are no road closures required for this <br /> event. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Special Events Application of the <br /> American Lung Association for the 35t" Annual Autumn Escape Bike Trek as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Approval of Waiver of Annual Building Inspection Fee ($40): <br /> Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod—Lloyd Wilson Jr.: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod requesting the Board <br /> waive the annual $40 Building Inspection fee to help the non-profit organization maintain its low <br /> membership costs for the children of Mashpee and Cape Cod. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to waive the 2019 Building Inspection Fee ($40) for the <br /> Boys and Girls Club of Cape Cod as requested. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> Update on Events at Mashpee Commons: Mary Derr: <br /> Mary Derr, Marketing Director of Mashpee Commons met with the Board of Selectmen to review <br /> the details of the 2019 events planned in Mashpee Commons. All events are free, family friendly <br /> and open to the public. New events have been added to the schedule to support children and their <br /> families. Three "Kid's Days"will be held on June 22°d, July 27th and August 241h with an array of <br /> fun activities and performances. On Tuesdays, in July and August children can choose and take <br /> home a complimentary balloon twist. <br />
