Minutes of Meeting of
Mashpee Plan Review Committee
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
Tuesday,June 19,2018
Mr. Mendoza asked Drew McManus if he had any comments. He had no comments, and
excused himself from the meeting. The committee still had a quorum.
Mr. Mendoza asked the committee to discuss their comments and concerns.
Deputy Fire Chief, Jack Phelan said that he would like the plans marked with the
emergency equipment installed,he would like a plan for the emergency lighting with pull
stations, the kitchen hood suppression system, the new overhang at the entrance, and a dry
sprinkler head. The fire pit is propane, but the awning should not be directly above the pit.
The codes need to be met. He has the same concerns with the right side in regard to the
protection for the seating and transformers.
Mr.Feronti said that the address was permitted as 35 Storrs Road,he asked if the address
could become a Market Street address. He said he spoke to Clay Nicholson. The alarm
should come in with the address of the alarm panel and the zone should tell you where to
go.
Mr. Phelan will discuss the address with the Fire Chief, and will be determined at a later
date. His concern is the residential addresses above; 41 Storrs and unit numbers.
Mr. Feronti said the address is 30 Benefit Street, and all eight units are off of 30 Benefit
St.
Mr.Mendoza commented that the AAB has a new handicapped code, and will be holding
hearings. He doesn't know if there are any changes to the commercial aspect of the code.
They have a website with this information. He wants to know the exact seating, both inside
and outside, for the liquor license.
Mr. Lehrer, Town Planner had a question regarding the main entry door side elevation.
He wanted to know if there will be a sign in the main entry way on the awnings or sails.
Mr. Feronti said probably not because the building is subject to the Town's signage bylaw _
because it's outside of the Mashpee Commons area. He said the plan just shows where
they want to have the signage, and will figure out where they fall within the parameters
of the dimensions. The awnings and sails will be taken down during bad weather.
Mr. Mendoza asked about the outside bar area. He wanted to know if there will be any
grill or kitchen installed. He also wants to know if the awnings and sails are fire rated
because there's a certain threshold of the square footage. Mr. Mendoza once again
expressed his need for a better site plan.
Mr. Feronti said that the bar will be just for beverages. The plan is to open sometime this
fall.
3
