Nina will continue as Treasurer. All agreed to continue the fine collaboration we are experiencing.
Mary Kate reported requests from two grant recipients for date and/or location changes:
• The Groovalottas request performing on August 6 at Mashpee Recreation Community Concert Series
rather than the July PowWow. David moved
approval of the request,Mary Kate seconded,VOTED unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
A survey from "Americans for the Arts"has been received via the Massachusetts Cultural Council. For the next
30 minutes the Council completed the survey, noting that most of the questions related to larger organizations.
Membership of the Council-A minimum of five (5) members is required by the MA Council regulations. We
currently are at seven members with Lynne Waterman's term completing in July. Seven (7) has been found to
be a workable membership size. Brian Weeden has expressed interest in joining and Winnie will contact him,
notifying us of his decision. Lynne Waterman was thanked for her knowledgeable and dedicated service to the
Council.
Grant applicants- It was noted that there appears to be a natural cycle with the number of applicants varying
year to year. Two years ago there were 28 applicants; 12 last year.
To publicize the Council's activities and application information:
• an ad in the Enterprise could be considered.
• Winnie will place information in The Mittark
• it is hoped that Bill Nay will work on a Facebook page for the Council.
• we will participate in Mashpee Night Out August 6.Mary Kate, and Mary Alice will be present;other
members as available.
