Cultural Council Minutes from January 29, 2018 <br /> Present: Dawn Thayer, Lynne Waterman, Nina Cocomazzi, MaryKate O'Brien <br /> Meeting called to order at 9:35 AM. <br /> Minutes from January 12, 2018 reviewed and Lynn Waterman moved to approve the minutes and <br /> seconded by Dawn Thayer. Vote: all approved. <br /> Discussion on guidelines to be posted online. Lynne Waterman shared guideline from other towns. <br /> The thoughts are to not limit our options. Guideline are too broad. Last update was 2014. <br /> Current Title: Funding Priorities <br /> Proposed Title: Local Guidelines and Priorities <br /> Current: A desirable application for funding will include one or more of the following criteria: <br /> Proposed: A desirable application for funding will include a majority of the following: <br /> Current: Benefits the Mashpee Community <br /> Proposed: Priority will be given to applicants for events being held in the Town of Mashpee but not <br /> limited there to. <br /> Current: Is broad in appeal and/or fosters inter-generational interest <br /> Proposed: Eliminate this line - addressed in following line <br /> Current: Serres an at-risk, underserved, or disadvantaged population <br /> Proposed: Attracting an underserved group or a broad spectrum of the population may merit special <br /> consideration. <br /> Current: Promotes tourism <br /> Proposed: No change <br /> Current: Demonstrates collaboration <br /> Proposed: Eliminate this line <br /> Proposed addition: Current letters of recommendations are encouraged. <br /> Proposed addition: New events and first time applications may merit special consideration. <br /> Current: Completed online application that is submitted on-time <br /> Proposed: Complete online application. <br /> Complete website changes as discussed begin on page 2 of minutes. <br /> Lynne Waterman made a motion to accept changes to website. <br /> Seconded by Nina Cocomazzi , <br /> Vote: all in favor <br /> All changes will be emailed by MaryKate O'Brien to council members. <br /> Meeting adjourned: 10:42 AM <br />
