MASHPEE COMMUNITY GARDEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE (MCGAC) <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> MAY 15,2019 - 7:00 P.M. <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL, OCKWAY MEETING ROOM <br /> 16 Great Neelc Road North <br /> Present: Virginia Scharfenberg, Pamela McCarthy, Irene Checkovich, Stephanie Simpson, <br /> Anthony Oliver, Mohamad Fand <br /> Absent: Michael Talbot <br /> Also Present: Sheryl Carberry <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> Chairman Virginia Scharfenberg opened the meeting at 7:04 p.m. <br /> APPROVAL of APRIL 17, 2019 MINUTES <br /> Motion: Irene Checkovich moved to approve the April 17, 2019 minutes, seconded by Pamela <br /> McCarthy. Vote 4-0 <br /> Hold March Minutes until the June Meeting <br /> COMMUNICATIONS and CORRESPONDENCE <br /> REPORTS <br /> MCGAC update on web page (Mohamad) <br /> There was a discussion regarding MCGAC's web page, Facebook, and the email account. It was noted <br /> that the forms are on the website and Mohamad would be in charge of answering the emails and <br /> Michael, Stephanie, and Pamela would monitor the Facebook page. The emails would also be <br /> available to the other members for their information. Irene suggested starting a list of sponsors that <br /> we are thanking;we can start with the people who have helped with the Community Preservation <br /> funds application. <br /> Approval of CPA funding approval at May 6, 2019 Town Meeting <br /> The Chair stated that the CPA funding was approved at Town Meeting and the funds are available as <br /> long as they are spent on the proposal for the new upgrade for the 2020 gardens. <br /> Status of applications being sent to people interested in garden plot (Pamela) and registration <br /> numbers as of 5/15/19 (Mohamad) <br /> Mohamad is preparing a chart of the garden plots which will be distributed to the gardeners. <br /> Status of garden readiness (Anthony and Irene) <br /> Irene reported that she and Anthony have been working on the gardens and they look great. <br /> Anthony fixed the gate. She noted that five of the garden beds have rotting border beams and they <br /> removed the nails for safety purposes. It was agreed to ask DPW,via Wayne Taylor, to replace these <br /> beams. Irene also noted she cleaned the shed. <br /> 1 <br />
