BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES MEETING <br /> TUESDAY,APRIL 9,2019 <br /> MASIIPEE LIBRARY CONFERENCE ROOM <br /> Present: Mary LeClair, Joan Lyons, Sandra Horsman,Virginia Scharfenberg, Matthew Auger, Ann MacDonald <br /> (via telephone), Amanda Hall arrived at 5:10. <br /> Absent: <br /> Also Present: Kathy Mahoney—Library Director, Carolyn Savage, Assistant Library Director <br /> Mary LeClair, chair called the meeting to order at 4:05 p.m. <br /> Public Comment <br /> None <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Joan Lyons motioned to approve the Regular Meeting minutes of March 12, 2019 as presented. <br /> Motion was seconded by Sandra Horsman. <br /> VOTE: Yes-5. <br /> Roll Call Vote: Joan Lyons, yes Matthew Auger,yes <br /> Sandra Horsman,yes Mary LeClair,yes Virginia Scharfenberg, yes <br /> Strategic Planning: Trustees SOAR Exercise&Discussion <br /> Strategic Inquiry <br /> Strengths: talented staff, building and extensive parking, central location, creative adult programming, <br /> effective, active youth programming, up-to-date technology, collections, CLAMS network, relationship with <br /> town, availability of meeting rooms, ability to secure grant funds,exceptional leadership, pro- <br /> active/successful/strong Friends of the Library group, loyal residents and patrons, excellent customer service, <br /> Native American collection, current/robust/interactive website, outreach/communication(website, digital <br /> signage, flyers/pamphlets,Mashpee Enterprise column, e-newsletter) <br /> Strengths chosen as most important: extensive programming, exceptional leadership/talented staff, up-to-date <br /> technology, network membership.(CLAMS). <br /> Opportunities: Center of civic life, gathering point/building community,technology assistance-resources, <br /> continuing education(lifelong learning), expand home delivery, promote library as more than books, library of <br /> things, collaboration with local businesses, career training/job fairs, info for new residents, cultural events, <br /> expand programming,teens, expand hours, adult literacy, reach non-library users, accessibility, diversity and <br /> inclusion, partnering with Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. <br /> Aspirations: Be a learning focal point for all ages. <br /> Results: Evolving services,transforming communities, appreciative learning. <br /> Meeting Schedule: <br /> • Next Meeting: 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in the Library Conference Room. <br />
