Library Director's Report <br /> • The Library Director and staff have been very busy wrapping up fiscal year end <br /> processes, and working on compiling the final numbers. The MBLC Annual Report <br /> Information Survey (ARIS) data collection process underway. Kathy Mahoney and <br /> Carolyn Savage participated in a training webinar on the new ARIS interface that will be <br /> used this year. <br /> • The Special Election to fill the open Selectmen position will be held on October 1, 2019. <br /> Nomination papers need to be submitted by August 13. <br /> • A memorial donation in memory of Virginia and Peter Farwell's daughter will be made <br /> to the Library. <br /> • The free summer lunch program began on Monday, July 1 with 90 lunches being served <br /> that day. This is the fourth summer the Library has participated in the program and the <br /> attendance has increased each year. Lunches are provided by St. Mary's Church, and the <br /> Library holds "Fitness Fun" activities outside on the Village Green on Mondays and free <br /> movies in the Event Room on Wednesdays. In addition to patron families, groups of <br /> children from the Boys and Girls Club,the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and local day <br /> care programs participate in the summer lunch events. <br /> • We ordered and just received 10 new sewing machines. These are being set up for use in <br /> upcoming Fiber Arts programs. <br /> • The Library won recognition at Massachusetts Library Association's Public Relations <br /> awards for our digital signage created by Staff Librarian Lindsay Manning. The digital <br /> sign can be viewed on the first floor,just inside the parking lot entrance. <br /> • The new Summer Reading PSA created by Mashpee TV has been posted on the <br /> children's page of the Library website. <br /> Friends of the Library Report <br /> The Friends did not have a July meeting. Sandra Horsman said they are selling raffle tickets for <br /> the Month of Prizes Calendar at grocery stores. <br /> Upcoming Friends Events: <br /> • Thursday, August 1 - A Ladies Night Out, Floral Arranging Program to be held at Christ <br /> the King. <br /> • Thursday, August 8 - Casey Sherman Author Program to be held at Willowbend Country <br /> Club <br /> • Thursday, September 19 - Terri Arthur Author Event will take place at Cotuit Center for <br /> the Arts. <br /> Policy Updates <br /> None <br />
