School Start Time: Adjust student day at MMHS by 10 minutes-from 8:30am-3:00pm to 8:20 am - 2:50 pm beginning in school year 2019-2020 Ms. Bartlett made a motion, seconded by Mr. Santos to approve the recommended adjustment to the school day at MMHS from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm to 8:20 am - 2:50 pm. Roll Call - In favor- Mr. Myers, Ms. Bartlett, Mr. Gorman and Mr.Santos; opposed Mr. Schmidt; vote passes. Update on School Start Time Implementation Planning Meetings (Superintendent) Mrs. DeBoer updated the Committee on the results of the school start time implementation planning meetings. School Committee working groups updates Goal 1A -Financial roadmap for fiscal planning Goal 1A was discussed previously under item #9. Goal 1 B - Improve effectiveness and efficiency of school committee The Committee is reviewing the draft School Committee Member Handbook. Goal 2A--Data-driven inclusive stakeholder communication plan (G. Gorman. N. Bartlett Family opinion survey Jan 2019 meeting share out The Committee will share out the opinion survey at the January, 2019 meeting. Subcommittee/Liaison Updates No reports 11. New Business *Superintendent's proposed school year calendars FY 2020 and FY 2021 Mr. Gorman made a motion, seconded by Mr. Schmidt to postpone the vote on the calendars until the January, 2019 meeting. Roll Call: In favor- Mr. Myers, Ms. Bartlett, Mr. Schmidt, Mr. Gorman and Mr. Santos; opposed - none. *NSBA Annual Conference in Philadelphia 3/30-4/1/19 Reach out to Gail regarding Conference by January 11, 2019 Discussion on Conflict of Interest Mr. Gorman spoke briefly about the conflict of interest. *Revision to Wellness Policy ADF Ms. Bartlett made a motion, seconded by Mr. Schmidt To postpone the vote until the January 16, 2019 meeting. 3
