Roll Call Vote: In favor- Ms. Bartlett, Mr. Schmidt, Mr. Gorman, Mr. Santos and Mr. Myers; opposed - none. Mr. Gorman made a motion, seconded by Mr. Schmidt to approve the minutes of January 17, 2018. Mr. Funk reviewed his report with the Committee. X. Specifically Assigned/Unfinished Business 10.1 School Start Time Mrs. DeBoer reviewed the school start time. More research will be done. 10.2 Update on Quashnet Window/roof/door project Mrs. DeBoer presented an update to the Committee on the Quashnet window/roof project. 10.3 5 year trend for private, technical, charter and school choice students A report outlining the 5 year trend is included in the packet. 10.4 FY16 & FY17 tuition waivers A report on tuition waivers is in the packet. 10.5 School Committee Upcoming Events Upcoming events are included in the packet. 10.6 Update on School Committee Working Groups (goals): • 1A Develop a strategic financial roadmap for fiscal planning The next meeting of the financial working group is March 6, 2018. • 1 B Establish protocols to improve efficiency/effectiveness of school committee The working group is in the process of establishing protocols regarding efficiency/effectiveness of school committee. • 1 C Adopt policy guidance oversight from MASC Review of the policy guidelines are ongoing. • 2A Develop data-driven stakeholder plan that enhances collaboration 10.61. Family opinion survey discussion Ms. Bartlett spoke about the survey that will be sent out next week to all families. XI. New Business 11.1 Discussion of custodial positions moving under the school department The Committee discussed moving custodial positions under the school department.The charter language is not clear.
