Mr. Johnson seconded
the motion. All voted unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
Mashpee Commons Chapter 40B Project-There was discussion regarding the new approach
for the Town to enter into a Tri-Party Agreement with Mashpee Commons and the Cape Cod
Commission. It was hoped that the new approach would better serve the large project, with significant
impact, but likely provide significant affordable housing. It was noted that it would be important to
include other Town members in discussions with the Planning Board. It was hoped that the matter
would appear on the October 2020 Town Meeting Warrant.
Mr. Abbott suggested that the item not appear on the Committee's agenda until there was action, but
the Chair suggested that it would be useful to maintain an ongoing list of activity. Mr. Abbott noted
that the Housing Production Plan was unclear as it related to Mashpee Commons and Ms. Stone
inquired how others would be involved in the discussion. The Chair stated that the Developer
Agreement Process with the Cape Cod Commission, and the Town as a signator, could increase the
density of a development, resulting in wastewater improvement with advanced treatment systems. The
Board of Selectmen would have the final vote, but the Planning Board would lead the hearings locally,
and the Bylaws permit the Board to invite others to participate. The Board of Selectmen have
requested that other regulatory stake holders be involved. It was suggested that the Affordable
Housing Committee should be represented and included in discussion.
