Nichols <br /> Attendees: Members: Brian Mauro, Donald MacDonald, Barbara Nichols <br /> Guests: <br /> The minutes of the August 27, 2019 meeting were accepted as written after a motion by Brian Mauro <br /> and second by Don MacDonald. <br /> Agenda topics <br /> [Agenda topic 1] Lake level/River outflow <br /> Discussion: The lake levels were measured by Barbara on September 1st and 23rd. They were 55.5 and <br /> 55.4 feet above sea level with 14.5 and 12 inches of water flowing over the board closest to the lake. <br /> There were 11.75 and 11 inches of water in the stream by the stairs. Barbara measured 6.5 inches of rain <br /> in her rain gauge over the past month. Measurements were reported to Drew McManus in Conservation. <br /> No action has been taken on the overgrown brush on the path,and the near metal gauge has not been <br /> replaced. Another email request was sent to Conservation. <br /> Barbara noted that the swim buoys had been taken in. There was also a letter from the Board of Health <br /> taped to the swim testing sign, alerting people that mosquitoes carrying EEE had been found in Mashpee. <br /> Conclusions: The lake remains higher than usual for this time of year due to higher precipitation. <br /> [Agenda topic 2]Nutrient Management Map <br /> Discussion: Mike Rapacz could not attend the meeting but said via email that he found rooted aquatics <br /> (macrophytes) along a large percentage of the lake shoreline. He plans to speak at the October <br /> Selectmen's meeting urging them to add the area around Mashpee Wakeby lake in Phase 1 of the sewer <br /> project. Mary Adams Oleksak has started "Mashpee Clean Waters" as a page on Facebook promoting <br /> action focusing mainly on the bays and estuaries. <br /> Conclusions: Mike will speak at the October Selectmen's meeting. A Facebook page promoting clean <br /> waters in Mashpee has been created. <br />
