7 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 7, 2019 <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following: <br /> Special Event and Temporary Sign Permit: Mashpee Historical Commission's 50t"Anniversary: <br /> Monday October 14 2019, 9 am—2 pm; Mashpee Archives Building & Community Park; Richard <br /> DeSorgher: (continued) <br /> Richard DeSorgher, a member of the Historical Commission was in attendance to request approval of <br /> the Special Event Application and Temporary Sign Permit for(3) signs which includes two banners; <br /> 2x6' to be placed on both sides of the entrance to the Archives building, and one sign; 3505"to be <br /> placed on Great Neck Road North over the existing Archives sign. <br /> A cultural presentation by members of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe will follow the event <br /> featuring Native American drumming, singing and dancing. Light refreshments will be provided. <br /> The application was approved by applicable regulatory agencies with requirements stipulated by the <br /> Department of Public Works. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the Special Event Application and Temporary <br /> Sign Permit Application for the Mashpee Historical Commission's 50th Anniversary and <br /> Indigenous Peoples Day Celebration on Monday, October 14,2019 as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Special Event and Temporary Sign Permit: Independence House Inc.: <br /> Chris Morin of Independence House, Inc. was in attendance to request approval of a Special Event <br /> Application and Temporary Sign Permit for a fundraiser to benefit Independence House on Friday, <br /> November 1, 2019 through Tuesday,November 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. —4:00 p.m. The She Shed <br /> is being displayed at various public sites across the Cape. Independence House is raffling off a pre- <br /> constructed She Shed (1 Ox6'). Signage to consist of three signs, one banner 8x3" and two 2x4' signs <br /> to be placed at the same location as the shed. With the Selectmen's approval, the She Shed would be <br /> displayed at the Mashpee Public Safety Complex. Applicable regulatory agencies have signed off on <br /> the application with stipulations required by the Department of Public Works. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Sherman to approve the Special Event Application and Temporary <br /> Sign Permit of Independence House, Inc. for a fundraiser as identified along Frank Hicks Drive <br /> with stipulations as imposed by the DPW as follows; visitors should be directed to park in the <br /> lined spaces, and applicant is responsible for litter lean up and the repair to the grass area <br /> where the shed is parked after it is removed. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br />
