Cyanobacteria algae present at the time of sampling. <br /> - 3 seasonal positions were extended for quahog seeding <br /> - No thefts reported last month <br /> -A seminar will be held on November 6,2019 on oysters as part of the Community Outreach <br /> Program <br /> -THe SHellfish Division is getting ready for the opening of Oyster season on 11/1 <br /> Committee Reports: <br /> Mashpee/Wakeby,Johns Pond and fresh waters:Jeff Smith met with Doug Cameron, Fishing <br /> &Boating regarding sand build up at the boatShellfish ramp. He reports that it will be reviewed <br /> in the spring by the engineers who will determine what needs to be done and where the sand <br /> will be placed. It appears no permitting is required and funds are available per Doug Cameron. <br /> Popponesset Bay Area: Nothing to report <br /> Waquoit Bay Area: Nothing to report <br /> Water Quality: Nothing to report <br /> Barnstable County Coastal Resources:The new dredge schedule has been issued.Two <br /> dredge teams will be deployed <br /> Sewer Commission: No formal appointment for a liaison from MWC to the Sewer Commission <br /> has been made.As noted last month Dick Noonan will initially attend meetings on MWC's <br /> behalf once they begin to progress their agenda. <br /> Public Access: Nothing to report <br /> Waterways Improvement Plans:The dredging for the Popponesset approach channel was <br /> requested by the Town to be done January 2020. It was originally scheduled for December <br /> 2019 by the County.There is no schedule as of this time for the pre-dredge survey. <br /> Dick Noonan reported that the LR/GR Expansion Project is progressing:A survey was <br /> conducted to dredge from the Great Neck Rd Public ramp to the channel and it was <br /> determined that the dredge requirements for the permitting will come in under 10k cubic yards. <br /> The subcommittee agreed to proceed. We will apply for CPC funds as though we will need to <br /> meet MEPA requirements and if MEPA is not required,we will return any excess funds to the <br /> CPC. Ken Bates is developing the application for CPC funding with the DPW Director Ms. <br /> Lauurent. We will provide a more detailed update for the next meeting to get all Commission <br /> Members current. <br /> New Business: <br /> An agenda item to approve the MWC Organization structure was tabled until next meeting <br /> following a more detailed discussion on our Mission and agenda format/management process. <br /> At 9:35 Gregg Fraser joined the meeting by telephone for 10 Minutes availability to participate <br /> in a session requested and led by Steve Mone on the Mission of the MWC and the broader <br /> agenda we should pursue.Comments that followed include: <br /> - Consolidate our agendas to include only those items we need to discuss within MWC <br /> - Do not include items/topics that do not require the action of this Commission.Only agenda <br /> those items that need our attention. <br /> - Consider streamline the Harbormaster's report to only essential items <br /> - Multiple comments from Members were made but no broad based agreement or decisions <br /> resulted. <br /> Steve Mone made a motion that we place this on our next meeting agenda for a broader and <br /> deeper discussion.The goal is to review our Mission and develop an agenda template that <br /> supports this.The motion was seconded by Dick Noonan and approved by all present. <br />
