VOTE: Unanimous(2-0).
7:20—Barbara Dummermuth
Mr. Harrington commented that the applicant wishes to be excluded from local Board of Health permitting
due to her license as an acupuncturist. Physicians, nurses, school athletic trainers, chiropractors, physical
therapists, and podiatrists are exempt, but acupuncture is not listed as an approved exemption. Other
exemptions include the applicant providing a bodywork permit from another town and then, with a
physician's order, they would be permitted to see Mashpee clients without a permit.
The applicant, Barbara Dummermuth, introduced herself for the record, stating that she is requesting an
exemption from the Board of Health Bodywork Regulation. She elaborated on the differences between
eastern and western medicine with respect to educational requirements. Specifically, she mentioned that
she had training in biology, chemistry, physics and psychology.
