*DRAFT* Board of Selectmen Minutes October 7, 20t9* 5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 7, 2019 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Department of Public Works Director Catherine Laurent: Discussion and Approval of Contract for <br /> Master Plan for Mashpee Middle/High School Athletic Complex: <br /> Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works was in attendance to recommend the Board of <br /> Selectmen award a contract for the Master Plan for the Mashpee Middle/High School Athletic <br /> Complex to Gale Associates of Weymouth, MA, <br /> The May 2019 Annual Town Meeting approved the $30,000 Master Plan proposed in the FY2020 <br /> Capital Improvement Plan. Work includes review of the existing athletic facilities for the purpose of <br /> malting recommendations to upgrade, reconfigure, reconstruct, and/or replace the facilities to <br /> support their intended use. <br /> In response to the Request for Proposals, two proposals were received for this service. The Planning <br /> & Construction Committee voted at their October 1, 2019 meeting to recommend a contract be <br /> awarded to Gale Associates, Inc. in the amount of$29,100. Gale Associates was noted to have a <br /> strong focus on assessing what field improvements are warranted by the usage to provide direction <br /> for the development of the master plan. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to award a contract to Gale Associates, Inc. in the amount <br /> of$29,100 for the development of a Master Plan for the Mashpee Middle/High School Athletic <br /> Field Complex as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Habitat for Humanity Land Acquisition&Permitting Manager Elizabeth Wade: <br /> Discussion and Approval of the Following_ <br /> Waiver of 341 Great Neck Road North(renamed Mendes Way) Building roject Permit Fees: <br /> Elizabeth Wade, Land Acquisition&Permitting Manager for Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod <br /> requested the Board approve a waiver of permit fees for 341 Great Neck Road (now known as <br /> Mendes Way) for its Community Housing project. The waiver of local permitting fees includes the <br /> Building Department, Board of Health, Fire Department and any other local permitting fees for its <br /> projects through the Zoning Board of Appeals or Planning Board processes. <br /> The in-hind fee waivers will enable the Habitat for Humanity organization to continue building <br /> 100% affordable ownership homes in the Town of Mashpee. <br />
