*DRAFT* Board of Selectmen Minutes October 7, 2019* 8 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> October 7, 2019 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> One Day Liquor License: Saturday, October 26, 2019, Mashpee Wampanoag Rod & Gun Club: <br /> Michael Hope: <br /> Mike Hope of the Mashpee Wampanoag Rod & Gun Club was in attendance to request the Board <br /> approve the use of the Club's One Day Liquor License on Saturday, October 26, 2019 for the Teddy <br /> Hendricks Fish Fry fundraiser from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. <br /> Motion made by Selectman O'Hara to approve the request of the Mashpee Wampanoag Rod & <br /> Gun Club for a One Day Liquor License on Saturday, October 26, 2019 for the Teddy <br /> Hendricks Fish Fry fundraiser. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara, yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Opposed, none <br /> Presentation Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge—History Booklet, Trail Guide and Brochures - <br /> Friends of the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge: Katelyn Cadoret: <br /> Katelyn Cadoret, Assistant Conservation Agent officially released the Mashpee National Wildlife <br /> Refuge history booklet, trail guide and brochures at the Selectmen's Meeting. The Mashpee <br /> National Wildlife Refuge was created in 1995, and encompasses nearly 6,000 acres in the Towns of <br /> Mashpee and Falmouth. It is the largest accessible open space on the Cape nearly the size of the <br /> National Seashore. Through the Refuge, a variety of wildlife and habitats are protected. <br /> The Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge is the only Refuge that is managed in cooperative <br /> Partnership with the Friends of the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge, Inc., the U.S. Fish& Wildlife <br /> Service, MA Department of Conservation&Recreation/Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research <br /> Reserve, MA Division of Fisheries & Wildlife, the Falmouth Rod& Gun Club, Orenda Wildlife <br /> Land Trust, Town of Mashpee & Mashpee Conservation Commission, Town of Falmouth & <br /> Falmouth Conservation Commission and the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Tribal Council. <br /> The Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge history booklet, trail guide and brochures was funded by <br /> Town of Mashpee Community Preservation Act funding and by Partner contributions. <br /> Mary Kay Fox, Friends of the Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge, Inc. and Brian Kehrl, writer and <br /> editor were acknowledged for their contributions to the history of the Refuge. Events are planned at <br /> WBNERR and at the Naukabout Brewery. The information will be distributed to the public through <br /> various site locations and kiosks. <br />
