Gregory McKelvey, <br /> Darlene Furbush, Charles Gasior, John Miller; Absent: Philip McCahill <br /> Town Manager Rodney Collins, Assistant Town Manager Wayne Taylor, Town Counsel Patrick Costello, <br /> Town Moderator Jeremy Carter, Deputy Town Moderator Edward Larkin <br /> Meeting called to order by Chair Gottlieb at 6 pm in the Main Office Conference Room at Mashpee High <br /> School <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Review of Annual Town Meeting Warrant, Motions and Possible Amendments to Motions with the Finance <br /> Committee, Town Counsel and the Town Moderator <br /> Members of the Board of Selectmen met jointly with members of the Finance Committee for the purpose <br /> of conducting a final review of the October 21, 2019 Annual Town Meeting Warrant and the proposed <br /> motions. <br /> Discussion of the Board of Selectmen's motion to be made for amendment to Article 5-General Bylaw <br /> for a Polystyrene Products Ban <br /> ARTICLE 5 PROPOSED REVISED MOTION TO BE MADE BY SELECTMAN WEEDEN: <br /> I move the Town vote to approve Article 5 as printed in the warrant with the following Bylaw text <br /> modifications: <br /> In §126-11. Use Regulations, substitute "July31, 2021"for "June 30, 2021" <br /> and with the exception of the phrase, "or take any other action relating thereto." <br /> It was disclosed that the Article as submitted and printed in the warrant had an error on the end date <br /> for disposal of unused polystyrene products after the proposed ban would take effect.The change in the <br /> motion was made on the recommendation of Town Counsel. Attorney Costello also explained that many <br /> towns in the Commonwealth have adopted a similar bylaws for this ban as well as the ban proposed for <br /> plastic straws in Article 6. Mr. McKelvey stated that he has an objection to the ban and wants to send <br /> the Article back for further review, amendments and possibly be submitted in May 2020. <br /> Motion made by Ms. Sherman to move Article#5 as amended. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Cotton. <br /> VOTE: In favor: 5-0.
