PLAN REVIEW MEETING MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 14, 2005 <br /> Present: Pat White,Administrative Assistant,Building Department <br /> Tom Fudala,Town Planner <br /> Glen Harrington,Board of Health <br /> Catherine Laurent,Assistant DPW Director <br /> Sheldon Hamblin,Deputy Fire Chief <br /> Charles Maintanis,Assistant Building Inspector <br /> Steve Solbo,Assistant Conservation Agent <br /> Rodney Collins,Police Chief <br /> Absent: None. <br /> Projects Under Review: <br /> Temporary Signage <br /> Mashpee Public Library <br /> David Burton, Trustee Chair,Presenting <br /> Mr. Burton is looking for approval for temporary signage for the new library. They designed a <br /> 4x8 sign. Tom F. noted that the sign cannot be over 20sf(4x5 limit), otherwise it will require <br /> ZBA approval. Design Review has to approve the sign, also. They need to meet the 5' setback <br /> requirement. If they reduce the size to 20sf,then they can speed up the process and only need to <br /> go before Design Review. Mr. Burton is going to reduce the size of the sign to 20sf to expedite <br /> the approval process. <br /> Industrial and Commercial Condo Bays <br /> Discussion of the Permit Process and What Is Not Working <br /> Charles Maintanis began a discussion about the problems arising from tenants who are <br /> occupying space without permitted use. These individuals are getting special permits from ZBA <br /> which do not coincide with the Building Permit, Sheldon H. will not approve any uses until they <br /> get an engineer approval. A contractor bay is now being solicited as a chiropractic, financial <br /> and real estate office space. This tenant requested to meet with Site Plan,ZBA, and their lawyer. <br /> They will need to revise their use plan. Glen stated that they need to report their Title V use. <br /> Individual violations were cited where no permit was issued. The Building Inspector can send <br /> an enforcement letter to violators. Tom Fudala stated that there are By Right uses, and we need <br /> to investigate further with Town Counsel. <br /> The Minutes of September 23, 2005 were moved by Glen H., and seconded by Catherine L. <br /> Motion passed. Sheldon noted that he met with Mark Romanowicz regarding Sea Quarters, and <br /> they will be required to install sprinklers. The October 28t'meeting is cancelled due to two <br /> absences on the Committee.
