0 4. <br /> MASHPEE SEWER COMMISSION <br /> TOWN IHIALL <br /> "Revised Minutes" <br /> Present: Dennis Balzarinil, Brad Caffyn, Toni Fudala <br /> Meeting convened at 7:10 p.m. <br /> Torn arranged a tour of the Mashpee commons sewage treatment plan for Saturday at :oo a.m . <br /> All three members are planning to go. This meeting will be continued to :oo Saturday March <br /> 15 at the plant. <br /> That plant is the same process as the willowend plant. <br /> Brad said their disposal is different, it goes through the sand before the ultra violet light. <br /> Tom added that disposal is above ground, into rapid sand filter beds. <br /> Tom polled the board members on the possibility of changing the meeting date from Tuesday. <br /> The Commission agreed to meet on the second Wednesday of the month, starting in April. <br /> Brad asked if the Commission wants to request of the Board of Selectmen that a Sewer <br /> Commission representative be appointed to serve on the DCPC steering committee. <br /> The Commission continued to discuss the possibility ofparticipating on that Committee. <br /> Brad said the Sewer Commission is dealing with the issue of high nitrogen , which they are so <br /> concer ed about. <br /> Tom explained that a DCPC would effect existing homes, and could for example requirede- <br /> nitrifying systems and upgrades when property changes hand. <br /> Dennis asked what this Commission could bring to the table of the DCPC Committee? <br /> Brad said we should notifying therm that we are working on creating a master plan for <br /> wastewater treatment for the town. <br /> Tom suggested that maybe this Commission should lust keep in touch with them, ask to be kept <br /> informed of their work. <br /> Brad said it is starting to get him frustrated that we do not have any information on costs. <br /> Torn said there are definitely numbers out here, but a lot of it is site specific. <br /> The Cape Cod Commission is very active in the alternative systems committee. <br /> The Sewer Commission decided that they would send a letter to the Board of Selectmen, <br /> offering the assistance of the Sewer commission and asking to he kept informed of the work of <br /> the DCPC steering committee. The Sewer Commission is willing to meet with them and <br /> discuss any information we already have. The letter will also advise them that the Sewer <br /> Commission is in the process of developing a master plan for waste water treatment facilities <br /> for the town. <br /> Brad said he would like to go to VVBNRR to get information on costs for the alternative <br />
